Looxi Beauty Eyeshadow Haul and First Impressions

There are so many amazing companies you can find through social media these days, and one that’s growing on Instagram is Looxi Beauty! I’m in a bit of a rut lately with my makeup collection, usually buying the same kind of shades and feeling a little uninspired. When Looxi had a flash sale of 50% I decided to pick up a few new shadows! I’m such a matte shadow junkie, and I wanted more multidimensional finishes for a change.

The Haul

Looxi has has four finishes of shadows: matte, aurora, metal, and shimmer. Out of the shimmers I picked up Blondie, Latte, Obsessed, and Blow. In the auroras, I chose Starboy, Copper Popper, Genesis, Duperstar, and Noir. Finally, in the metals I got Foxy Lady and Laced. There are so many gorgeous colors, I honestly had a very hard time picking the ones I wanted most! The aurora shadows are intended to be duochrome, and have shifting tones. The metals are a metallic finish shadow, and have a distinct sheen. The shimmers are almost glittery.

First Impressions

Let’s get down to business. The shadows are all approximately 1.3 grams, which is a relatively standard size for eyeshadows, and cost $5.00 each. That’s a pretty decent price, considering that Makeup Geek and MAC are slightly more expensive, Colourpop is the same price, and ABH are considerably more expensive.

The shadows swatch well, and feel incredibly creamy. There’s little to no fall out, and this color payoff is with one or two layers and no primer. The shimmer shades do leave some shimmer behind after removing with makeup remover, but do not pull chunky when worn. As far as the actual shades go, they are incredibly dimensional and look beautiful in natural light. The paler shades such as Starboy needed an additional layer to show fully, but probably will perform best when over a primer.

I can’t wait to use them with some fun, glam looks! And I’ll definitely be trying them over a black base, to see if I can get the duochrome to really pop. I’ll definitely do a full review once I’ve used these some more. If you want to see some products I’ve really been loving and totally recommend, check out my July beauty faves.
